Snowy Mountains - Perisher Valley

Our Trip to Perisher Valley, Snowy Mountains...

It was a rainy day when we started out, hence i was a little apprehensive about driving up lest we could not go up the mountain and waste the time driving into the snowy mountain range. We pressed on despite the rain and we got snow in the late afternoon. It snowed heavily and the wind was extremely strong at blue cow. Sunset at Perisher Valley was breathtaking.

This is my second visit to the AWM, the first at night though. It is an interesting phototaking experience as we tried out the different modes of the dslr and the new compact camera. These are the products which i thought was not too bad. but the sky turned dark very soon and the wind was so cold and freezing. Not to mention 2 kangaroos hopping about while we were taking the photos and distracted us so much... Imagine kangaroos in civilisation... in a natural park, it is interesting enough that they are free to roam and in the city, it is hardly expected... our hands were not quick enough to snap shots of the kangaroos... we were just busy watching them hop.. ;p

Buffet Time

Yummy Time on a Friday, 3rd July 2009 after ML's exams... we indulged in a seafood buffet... good and yummy stuff, we had our fill of crabs, oysters, prawns etc etc and desserts, my favourite. Very good and creamy mushroom soup. In 5 month's time, we would be back in s'pore and more buffets here we come ;p

Nice ambience and attentive servers... who would rush to your every needs...real thoughtful.

The spread of desserts.. lovely colours and awesome taste, thanks chef, but i could not finish sampling all of them and most importantly, they served bread and butter pudding with vanilla sauce, my favourite!!!

Geelong

Geelong

This is also not the first time i am coming to Geelong for years back, i came with my brother and friends to visit a good friend, Josephine who used to work in Deakin University. Times have passed quickly and the construction sites then now featured condominums facing the waterfront. More upcoming projects in the vincity, so i guess when i next come back, there would be more residential areas rising. We stayed at Mecure Geelong, the only hotel in the area. Our room overlooks the city and the view is spectacular.

Great Ocean Road

Great Ocean Road, 6th June to 9th June 2009

We had planned to travel to Great Ocean Road (GOR) on Queen's birthday since the early part of the year and we were joined by Angela and her sister on this road trip. It was not our first trip to GOR, both of us had been there in the past, this was our first time to GOR together. It was a whopping 7 hours drive from canberra with fog in the early morning. By the time, we reached Geelong, it was 2.30pm and after lunch, we went on to GOR for photos, Little did we know that the drive was long and bumpy. So we did not manage to catch the 12 Apostles before sunset and we had night shots instead. Something which i had not done before.

This is a picture of the loch arc which collapsed 2 days after we went there. So this is the picture of the original arc. Due to the nature's forces and the forces of the current, the arc collapsed beneath.
