Steamboat in Autumn ... The Consecutive Days

Steamboat in Autumn ...

Last weekend, we found a place with yummy and fresh seafood, so happy was I that i bought fresh fish fillets , king prawn (on the right), banana prawn (on the left), etc. I was so fascinated by the difference types of fishes seen. The only con of the place is that it is very wet and has a fishy smell which is probably like the wet market in Singapore. Recently only after i started going marketing in australia, i started to know the difference between fresh and frozen food. Didnt realise that there is such a difference in the taste and prices. We have been so pampered by my mother thatwe have been eating fresh good seafood and all the things she cooked. The previous week, i bought cooked prawns and after some good advice from the fishmonger that i must freeze the prawns when i get home. Faithfully i did it but only to realise that it does not taste nice. Instead it became chewy. So i think that would be my last purchase of the cooked prawns. Think fresh ones stuck better with the two of us.

A idea struck and we decided it was good time to have steamboat (but australia does not seem to sell the steamboat cooker so we made our steamboat with our ricecooker and the stock, no abalone and chicken stock like my mum used to make... so we made do with tomato, onions, ikan bilis and 1 tablespoon of chicken knorr) amidst the cold weather and the yummy seafood and the sambal chilli from S'pore. It was so delicious that we had it for days in a row. Think my mum can relax and dont have to worry so much about what are we eating in australia after she sees these pictures.
